Voter Id Card: How To Apply For Voter Id Card

Voter ID, also known as EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) is a photo identity card issued by the Election Commission of India to all Indian citizens eligible to vote.

The Election Commission of India offers online voter registration for Indian citizens whose age is above 18 years. An Indian citizen can enroll himself/herself as a general voter and fill Form 6 online at National Voters' Service Portal.

The purpose of voter ID is to serve as identity proof for voters, increase efficiency and prevent impersonation and fraud during free and fair democratic elections. This card is also commonly known as an election card, voter’s card, or Voter ID card.
